LE DÉSASTRE QUI RAVAGE LE YÉMEN EST CRÉÉ PAR L’HOMME. IL EST CAUSÉ PAR LA GUERRE ET LE BLOCUS. ON PEUT Y METTRE FIN.

APPEL À UNE PROTESTATION INTERNATIONALE

LE LUNDI 25 JANVIER 2021

Depuis 2015, les bombardements et le blocus du Yémen, dirigés par l’Arabie saoudite, ont tué des dizaines de milliers de personnes et ont dévasté le pays. Les Nations Unies estiment qu’il s’agit de la pire crise humanitaire au monde. La moitié de la population du pays est au bord de la famine. Le Yémen connaît la pire épidémie de choléra sur la planète de l’histoire moderne. Et, aujourd’hui, le Yémen affiche un taux de mortalité lié à la COVID parmi les plus élevés au monde : un test positif au coronavirus se traduit par un décès une fois sur quatre. La pandémie, qui se combine au retrait de l’aide, fait sombrer encore plus de personnes dans la famine extrême.

Et pourtant, l’Arabie saoudite intensifie sa guerre et resserre son blocus.

Cette guerre n’est possible que parce que l’Occident – les États-Unis et la Grande-Bretagne au premier chef mais aussi la France – continue d’armer l’Arabie saoudite et d’offrir un soutien militaire, politique et logistique à la guerre. Les puissances occidentales sont des participants actifs et ont le pouvoir de mettre fin à la crise humanitaire la plus grave au monde.

Le désastre qui ravage le Yémen est créé par l’homme. Il est causé par la guerre et le blocus. On peut y mettre fin.

Des personnes et des organisations des États-Unis, du Royaume-Uni, de l’Australie, du Bangladesh, du Canada, de la France, de l’Allemagne, de l’Inde, de l’Italie, de la Pologne, de l’Espagne et de partout dans le monde unissent leurs voix pour réclamer la fin de la guerre au Yémen et une solidarité réelle avec le peuple du Yémen. Nous demandons à nos gouvernements d’agir immédiatement pour :

–> Mettre fin à l’agression étrangère au Yémen

–> Mettre fin au soutien accordé à l’Arabie saoudite et aux Émirats arabes unis en matière d’armement et de ressources militaires

–> Lever le blocus imposé au Yémen et ouvrir tous les accès terrestres et maritimes

–> Rétablir et accroître l’aide humanitaire destinée à la population du Yémen.

Nous appelons les citoyens du monde entier à protester contre la guerre le 25 janvier 2021, soit quelques jours après l’investiture présidentielle aux États-Unis et la veille de la Future Investment Initiative de l’Arabie saoudite surnommée « Davos du désert ».

Nous demandons aux personnes et aux organisations de toute la planète d’appeler à la protestation ce jour-là – dans le respect des mesures sanitaires, dont le port du masque – pour affirmer avec force, dans leurs villes, petites ou grandes, que LE MONDE DIT NON À LA GUERRE AU YÉMEN.
